The Town of Washington will impose seasonal weight restrictions on all town roads beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Weight restrictions will be in effect until the spring thaw period is over. Weight limits are put in place to protect the integrity of our roadways.
No heavy trucks will be allowed on town roads during the weight restriction period.
Road weight limits do not apply to a motor vehicle that is being operated to deliver propane for heating purposes IF specific conditions are met. Refer to Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 348 for complete details.
PLAN AHEAD and arrange for heavy load deliveries before the road weight limits go into effect.
While town road limits are in place, we will NOT be sweeping town roads.
All blacktop town roads will be swept after road limits are removed, weather permitting.
Gravel roads will be graded after road limits are removed and roads are dry.
Call Paul Chlapecka, Town Foreman, at 715-891-4833 for any questions.
