Welcome to the Town's Website. Nestled in the southeastern corner of Vilas County in northern Wisconsin, the Town of Washington was established in 1914. It has about 1,457 residents and is located just outside the City of Eagle River. Part of the Town is located on the world famous Eagle River Chain of Lakes. The Town Hall is at 2301 Town Hall Road, in the home of the historic old Mayo School.
Governed by two elected Supervisors and one elected Chairperson, the Board understands the need for information availability and recognizes the value of a website to enable year around residents, seasonal residents, and visitors to obtain information at their convenience.
Road weight limits in the Town of Washington will no longer be in effect as of noon, Wednesday, April 29th with the EXCEPTION of those roads on the east side of the Township. Areas included are roads east of Krause Ln and include North and South Military Roads as well as East Anvil Lake Road.
